Do you want to change your life?

Each day we make decisions based on judgements and prejudice. Most of us know inside, a gut instinct, what we really want to do. Sometimes, however circumstances don’t allow us to do what we want to do or children, parents, and partners feel threatened and prevent us from fulfilling our new direction.

Whether it’s your life, a new job, career, a different house or partner start making the changes now and initiate the process towards change.

Change at any age

Many people have made career changes late in life and have been very successful. Madonna has reinvented herself on numerous occasions with great vigour. Can you add yourself to that list?

You can do what you want when you want. Just believe you are worth it and have that can do approach, better to try than not at all.

This is the advice my son gave me a few years ago, how did you become so sensible I asked him? It’s what you taught us mum.

So what gives me the qualification to suggest that you could change your life at any age?

Because that is exactly what I did! At the age of 48 I re-trained as an actress and now also do stand up comedy all over the world.

Follow what is in your heart

I have performed in front of 12,000 people at the Glasgow Hydro and you might have seen me on BBC in Scot Squad. Not bad for a Pakistani women over 50! And yes I have had rejections, too many to list but to quote a great Scottish phrase

“What’s for you won’t go by you”

However I know the joy I feel when I am doing what I love. Sometimes you have to follow what is in your heart (as long as no one gets hurt in the process).

It’s never too early to start your bucket list but sometimes it’s too late.

Here are some of my mantras to get your started:

  • It’s never too late to change;
  • You are worth it: (L’Oreal made this phrase famous, so believe in yourself);
  • Do it and you can;
  • Give yourself permission to change;
  • Focus on what makes you happy.
